I have been quite busy recently and didn’t post on my blog as regularly I used to or wanted to. There are several reasons for that like my smallest son, but there is a more photography related thing as well.

Gradually and on the side I am working on turning my everyday busyness into a real business.
It means that I’ve just registered a company here in Hungary for my photography related activities targeting mainly companies. I’m planning to approach my prospects with high quality and reliable photography services making executive headshots, photographing events, taking pictures of industrial and agricultural locations and processes.
I’ve also set up a Web site for the service (see it on the right) for which I would appreciate your comments in order that I can make the best impression for my prospects.

I know that things like the version of a blog engine is not particularly interesting for quite a few blog readers. However, I know that quite a few blog readers are bloggers as well. So, for them here is a tiny piece of information: Photonovice.net is on WordPress 2.7 from today.

I can’t help but I’m still a geek and enjoy technical developments like the new sleek design of the admin dashboard in WordPress. I’m not talking about the new features and bug fixes, but the design. It is rich and clean at the same time. It is well thought and handy. It is professional. Many commercial software packages are far, far behind WP in terms of usability, design and user experience. I’m quite amazed how this supposed to be simple tool improves by each version change.

My favourite new thing in WP 2.7 is the toolbar that can be minimized. Check the pic on the right.

Update: there was an annoying issue with the Flash driven media uploader. It is discussed here and the solution is (or at least was for me, but worked for others as well) re-uploading the swfupload.swf file to the /wp-includes/js/swfupload folder on your server.
