stockxpert.com rejected me
Posted by photonovice on 11th April 2007
www.stockxpert.com is one of the many stock photo sites from where you can buy quality images. When I need some visuals for e.g. a presentation I normally start from www.sxc.hu which is also a stock photo site, but a free – in terms of free beer – one. If I can’t find anything that would fit my needs or concept, I have a look on www.stockxpert.com.
A few days ago I thought that having a good camera and had been practicing for a few months I could start selling my images. So I applied to www.stockxpert.com to be able to sell them on-line. For the application one has to upload 5 images representing his/her photographic skills. I uploaded these amongst two others thinking that they are my best ones:

After some time I received the following message through the internal messaging of stockxpert.com:
| Subject: Artist application rejected
Dear xxxx, We regret to inform you that your artist application was rejected. We are very sorry but at the moment we are not looking for pictures like the ones you uploaded. For our submission guidelines please check the Selling images section of the Help at http://www.stockxpert.com/info.phtml . You will be able to submit your work again a month from now. Thank you very much for your understanding. Best regards, |
I’ve never been one of the type who blamed teachers for the grades they gave. After the first shock and sorrow that I felt I realized that stockxpert.com was damn right. To maintain their reputation they can allow only the highest quality images to appear on the site. If you check the most dowloaded images there you’ll admit that my pictures are yet far far away from that quality.
But I don’t give up.
